Visual Arts Competition 2026 with Prizes Worth Over GBP 10,000

Artists & Illustrators announces the opening of applications for The British Art Prize 2026, an international art competition targeting artists of all levels, whether hobbyists, emerging artists, or professionals.

The competition accepts original artworks in a variety of styles and media, such as painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles, and mixed media, with an opportunity for winners and selected artists to exhibit their work in London and receive cash prizes, art materials, and media coverage.

• The first-place winner receives GBP 2,000 and a solo exhibition at Panter & Hall’s Cecil Court Gallery.
• The second-place winner receives GBP 500 and Derwent art materials worth GBP 750.
• The third-place winner receives Royal Talens art materials worth GBP 750.
• The Raw Umber Studio Prize for Portraiture is worth GBP 750.
• The Clairefontaine People’s Choice Award offers GBP 1,000 worth of art products.
• Shortlisted works will be exhibited at Oxo Gallery in London from October 21 to 25, 2026.
• Opportunity to be featured in Artists & Illustrators magazine and reach a wide audience of art lovers and collectors.

1. The competition is open to artists from around the world.
2. Hobbyists, emerging artists, and professionals may apply.
3. All artistic styles, media, and techniques are accepted, such as painting, drawing, textiles, printmaking, and mixed media.
4. Collaborative works may be submitted.
5. Prints of original works created in other media, such as giclée prints, are not accepted.
6. Each artist may submit up to 20 artworks.

Application Fees

1. GBP 24 for the first artwork.
2. GBP 19 for each additional artwork.
