The Wildlife Biolink and Conservation in Indonesia programme offers a unique volunteering experience in Bukit Lawang, one of Indonesia’s most important ecological regions. Volunteers contribute to the protection of tropical rainforests and endangered wildlife, particularly the Sumatran Orangutan, through conservation activities, wildlife monitoring, habitat restoration, and support for local communities working toward environmental sustainability.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring wildlife populations and natural habitats.

  • Assist with environmental awareness and education programmes for local communities.
  • Take part in cleaning and protecting natural areas and ecosystems.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be 18 years old or older.
  • Strong interest in wildlife conservation, environmental protection, and sustainability.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and field-based environments.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in English.
  • Good physical fitness suitable for outdoor and conservation activities.
  • Ability to work effectively within an international and multicultural team.
