Opportunity description

The World Health Organization (WHO) is offering an online volunteer opportunity to participate in an international workshop focused on producing a short awareness video about youth mental health and well-being. The workshop brings together students and graduates from media, medicine, and public health backgrounds in a multidisciplinary environment to develop impactful visual content that promotes mental health awareness among young people.

Volunteers will contribute to all stages of video production, from concept development and scriptwriting to filming, editing, and producing a professional final video that addresses mental health topics in a positive, responsible, and engaging manner.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Develop concepts and creative ideas for the awareness video.
  • Contribute to scriptwriting and content development.
  • Support production planning and content preparation.
  • Participate in filming, editing, and post-production activities.
  • Review and improve draft versions of the video.
  • Collaborate with team members to produce a final video of approximately 2.5 to 4 minutes in length.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be current students or recent graduates in one of the following fields:
    • Media and Communication
    • Journalism
    • Media Studies
    • Film Production or Visual Communication
    • Public Relations
    • Medicine
    • Public Health
    • Any related health discipline
  • Strong interest in youth mental health, well-being, or community engagement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to actively participate throughout the workshop period.
  • No previous experience in video production or editing is required.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Knowledge of Turkish is considered an asset.
