United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Palestine: Field Assistant.
Duration:
9 months
Duties & responsibilities
- Conduct regular field visits to CSO partners to monitor and ensure high-quality implementation of activities.
- Support the organisations of field visits by UNDP and its programmatic partners to monitor and -follow up on the progress of intervention as needed.
- Take meeting minutes and draft short reports summarizing key points and actions discussed at periodic meetings.
- Support the collection, organization, and reporting of data related to project activities.
- Assist project teams in collecting data for reporting purposes.
- Participate in workshops and training sessions as requested.
- Support the preparation and implementation of dissemination plans for knowledge products.
- Participate in discussions with partners to review and refine the implementation plans for activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Assist in identifying challenges in project execution and recommend actionable solutions in coordination with the Sawasya team.
- Maintain regular communication with partners to provide guidance and support as required.
- Prepare detailed field visit reports, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and progress updates.
- Facilitate coordination between the Civil Society Coordinator and partners’ teams to promote effective collaboration.
- Assist the Admin/Grants Officer in the preparation and follow up on financial reporting requirements.
- Support implementing partners in maintaining financial supporting documents.
- Attend Sawasya meeting and update the management on the situation on the ground
- Additional tasks may be assigned by the supervisor as needed, depending on the project’s needs and local context.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 18 - 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- Experience in data collection and reporting.
- Strong understanding of project implementation, coordination, and monitoring frameworks.
- Familiarity with financial management processes related to project activities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage workshops, events, and field activities effectively.
- Ability to take meeting minutes accurately and prepare concise reports.

- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Sound security awareness.

Required education level:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in law, international relations, international law, business administration, or any other related fields
