The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non‑Proliferation (VCDNP) and the International Affairs Institute (IAI) invite female students and recent graduates to apply to a Young Women in Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Mentorship Programme, which will run from 15 September 2022 to 15 May 2023. This fellowship program seeks to engage young women in the field of non-proliferation, arms control, and disarmament, and promote awareness about these issues.

- The program will pair successful applicants with well-known experts to establish a mentoring relationship, through different forms of communication between mentees and mentors.
- Attend select conferences, including the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC) Annual Conference on 14-15 November 2022 in Brussels.
- Networking and career and skills development opportunities will be offered through seminars, workshops, and other activities.

Eligibility criteria
You should follow the following criteria:
- The program is open to female students currently enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate programs, as well as recent graduates (who graduated less than three years ago).
- Candidates of all nationalities and from all regions.
- A portion of the spots will be reserved for applicants from Europe.
- The program will be conducted in English.
- Good English language skills are essential.
- At the end of the program, you are expected to produce a deliverable that might take the form of either a paper, a presentation, a video, a blog post, or similar.
- Applicants will be informed of the final decision by 29 July 2022 at the latest.
About Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non‑Proliferation (VCDNP):
VCDNP is an international non-governmental organization established on the initiative of the Austrian Foreign Ministry in 2010. It is operated by the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. The official opening ceremony of the VCDNP was held on 25 February 2011 at the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria. Its mission is to promote international peace and security by providing a platform for independent analysis and dialogue in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
