ESCWA is pleased to open the participation opportunity in a workshop which is organized in collaboration with the Sand and Dust Storm Warning Regional Center at the National Center of Meteorology of Saudi Arabia and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), with the technical support of the Barcelona Dust Forecast Center, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), and the Asian and Pacific Centre for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP).

Eligibility criteria
You should follow the following criteria:
- The workshop is open to anyone interested in Sand and dust storm analysis and modeling in the Arab region.
- Participants include senior meteorological experts from meteorological agencies in the Arab region who have experience in conducting and delivering sand and dust storm analysis.
- It is conducted within the framework of the Climate Resilience through Regional Cooperation for Inclusive Sustainable Development project, which is implemented by ESCWA with the support of the Government of Sweden.

ESCWA was established in 1973, it is one of five regional commissions under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The role of the Commission is to promote the economic and social development of Western Asia through regional and subregional cooperation and integration. It plays a critical role in promoting a holistic approach to development in their regions and balancing the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development in their member States.
