International OrganisationFollowAbout the organization
The Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU) is a national organization established in 1954 to support and implement UNESCO’s mission in the Republic of Korea. The commission works as a bridge between UNESCO, the Korean government, civil society, and international partners to promote cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and communication. KNCU contributes to advancing UNESCO’s goals by coordinating national participation in UNESCO programs, advising the government on international agreements related to UNESCO, and encouraging partnerships with public institutions, NGOs, and the private sector. Through its initiatives, the commission promotes global citizenship education, cultural heritage preservation, sustainable development, and international cooperation. It also organizes youth programs, research initiatives, and international exchanges to strengthen dialogue and collaboration across countries.
