Deloitte is offering a job opportunity within the Deloitte Innovation Hub (DIH) in Cairo, Egypt for the position of Data Protection Tech Lead, working as part of the cybersecurity and data protection team.
The role is intended for a professional with advanced experience in designing, implementing, and managing Data Protection solutions, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data discovery and classification, access management, database monitoring, CASB solutions, and rights management.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading technical workstreams related to data protection, overseeing solution implementation from requirements analysis and design through testing and deployment, as well as providing advisory support to clients and mentoring less experienced team members.

Duties & responsibilities
Lead Data Protection projects and workstreams from requirements gathering through design, implementation, and testing.
Manage the technical aspects of projects, track dependencies, and ensure the quality of deliverables.
Assess clients’ data protection maturity and identify key risks and priorities.
Contribute to developing data protection strategies and implementation roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Define use cases and technical requirements for protecting data throughout its lifecycle.
Design DLP and CASB solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
Design data protection solutions in line with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST.
Prepare architecture diagrams and data flow diagrams, including technical descriptions of each component.
Define network, server, and infrastructure requirements needed to implement the solutions.
Integrate data protection solutions with tools and platforms such as SIEM, AWS, and Azure.
Set up and implement data discovery servers.
Create and deploy DLP policies and rules.
Install and configure agents for database monitoring and data protection.
Integrate solutions with enterprise systems and applications using APIs.
Develop customized reporting dashboards using tools such as Power BI.
Prepare technical documentation related to data protection solutions and implementations.
Test technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
Review team members’ work and support the development of their data protection skills.
Communicate with clients regarding technical recommendations, project progress, and key risks.
Eligibility criteria
At least 7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity.
Strong and specialized experience in Data Protection.
Experience leading technical projects or workstreams and overseeing solution implementation.
Ability to translate business requirements and data protection risks into technical solutions and recommendations.
Experience mentoring or coaching less experienced team members.
Strong stakeholder management and client communication skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in:
Information Technology
Cybersecurity
Computer Science
Or a related field

Data access management using Varonis.
Information Rights Management using Microsoft, Seclore, or Vera.
Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) tools such as Symmetry, Flow, Polar, and Laminar.
Administration of Windows Server, Unix, and Linux systems.
Administration of Oracle or Microsoft SQL databases.
Improving data security operations, including rule tuning, alert analysis, and reporting.
