GEMS Wellington Academy – Silicon Oasis in the United Arab Emirates is hiring a Female PE Teacher to join its teaching team, with the position starting in January 2027.

The school is looking for a Physical Education teacher with experience teaching Physical Education (PE) at advanced levels, who is able to deliver an engaging learning experience that encourages full student participation, develops physical skills, and promotes confidence, teamwork, and wellbeing.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Teach Physical Education (PE) in line with the school’s approved curriculum and standards.
  • Teach students at KS4 and KS5 levels, or equivalent.
  • Plan and deliver effective, engaging PE lessons that address the needs of different learners.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different abilities and learning needs.
  • Use evidence-based teaching approaches and modern educational practices.
  • Monitor student progress and work to improve performance and participation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and share best teaching practices.
  • Take part in the school’s sports and extracurricular activities.
  • Contribute to community events and wider school activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Comply with the school’s child safeguarding and student safety policies.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be female, due to the nature of the advertised position.
  • Hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd).

Or:

  • Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree together with a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have proven experience teaching Physical Education at KS4 and KS5 levels, or equivalent.
  • Have more than two years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching.
  • Be able to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to evaluate performance and identify solutions.
  • Demonstrate creativity and enthusiasm in teaching.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be willing to participate in extracurricular activities and wider school community events.
