Opportunity description

The University of Glasgow invites highly motivated and accomplished students for two scholarships of the Digital Society MSc for the academic year 2021-2022. These scholarships offer full tuition waivers and give research students many opportunities including careers, workshops, and training sessions to become the topmost targeted by UK employers.

Eligibility:

To be qualified for this scholarship if:

  • You must have a documented background in the social sciences, especially
    sociology, political economy, cultural studies, media studies, gender studies, human geography, psychology.
  • You must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a place for the MSc Digital Society full-time postgraduate taught program for September 2021.
  • You must be demonstrated academic excellence in a relevant field (sociology and other social sciences, digital sociology, digital media, and culture).
  • You should have high academic achievement in the course of previous studies.
  • You should well-articulated interest in processes of digitalization and how they impact different areas of society. A background in studying or working practically with digital technology from a social science perspective constitutes an advantage.

Please note:

  • Assessment will be based on the quality of the application and the aforementioned criteria.
  • All candidates holding an offer (conditional or unconditional) for this scholarship and submitted a personal statement by 15 May 2021 will be considered.
  • Successful candidates will be advised of the outcome by 30 June 2021.
  • The funding includes full tuition fees only.
  • Scholarships will be awarded competitively.
