The Miles Morland Foundation at the University of East Anglia in the UK is offering master’s scholarships for African writers’. The awards are available to the writers who have applied for a place on the MA creative writing prose fiction or biography and creative non-fiction in the school of literature, drama, and creative writing.
Eligibility:
You must fulfill the following criteria:
- A study field of literature, drama, and creative writing.
- A national of any country within Africa or who was born in any country within Africa or whose parents were both born in Africa.
- The awards are made for one year with an annual value of £25000.
- Academic Excellence.
- Evidencing outstanding creative writing potential
- Scholarship awards cannot be deferred to a subsequent year.
- These scholarships cannot be got in a combination with any other scholarships UEA.
Please note:
- Once you are enrolled at UEA, the University will contact you using your University student email account. It is your responsibility to check this account regularly for important information regarding payment of your Scholarship, and any other requests relating to the Scholarships scheme.
- Both parents born in Africa (If the scholarship is awarded on this basis, copies of both parents' passports must be provided as evidence to UEA at the point of acceptance of the scholarship.
- You must consent to complete tasks set by the development office, including but not limited to: completing a donor thank-you letter, providing annual updates, and sending a graduation photo.
