<p>Nikon has announced the return of its bi-annual international photography <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">competition</a> - Nikon Photo Contest 2020-21 - for professional and amateur photographers. The Nikon Photo Contest 2020-21 will feature a photo and a short film competition, both of which will accept entries in the &#39;Open&#39; and &#39;Next Generation&#39; categories.</p><h3>Categories:</h3><p>The theme for the <strong>Open category</strong> is &#39;Connect&#39; where those behind the lens will be asked to explore the meaning and significance of communication, as well as the bonds that connect people to the world. Through their imaging, photographers should express their unique perspective on the &#39;connection&#39; they experience around them.</p><p>The <strong>&#39;Next Generation</strong>&#39; category, open to photographers 25 years old and younger, will focus on &#39;Passion&#39;. The very meaning of the word evokes action, elicits empathy, and has the power to change the future. At times, it can even move the world, which is what this category is all about. By entering the contest, entrants under 18 years of age indicate that they have obtained the permission of a parent or guardian.</li><li>The contest is not open to employees of Nikon (the &quot;organizer&quot;) or its subsidiaries or affiliates.</li></ul><h3>Judging Procedure:</h3><ul><li>After all entries for the photography and short film competitions have been received, they will undergo the first round of judging, and all successful entries will be posted on the competition website (scheduled for May 2021). Winners of each award will then be decided after the final round of judging (June 2021). Contest results are scheduled to be announced on the website by July 2021.</li><li>The Nikon&rsquo;s Selection Award will be decided by Nikon Group employees from among the works listed above that pass the first round of judging.</li><li>Works to be featured in the Nikon Calendar will be judged separately from the above categories after all entries have been received. Entries suitable for the calendar will be decided from among all works taken using Nikon products that were submitted to either of the photography competitions and judged by Nikon employees.
