Curtin University has recently launched its new scholarship, named after Meng Fei. This scholarship targets 4 undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. These scholarships are based on merit scholarships that targeting students who approved excellence performance and enjoy leadership and innovation skills. As for Meng Fie innovative future leader scholarship, it was named after Meng Fei, one of the greatest Chinese success stories. He is an entrepreneur and host of "If you are the one" show on SBS network in Australia, a successful and famous show. This scholarship aims at providing students with an inspiring example, motivating them to look up to Fei, to succeed in becoming leaders in their countries.  

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Meng Fie scholarship permits students from around the world to apply, except for Australia and New-Zealand nationals and residents. On condition that the student should be full-fee-paying and non-sponsored.
  • Students with an average of 80% or more in their qualifying course, essential for mainstream course admission.
  • Students starting their studies in 2020, at any of Curtin’s Western Australia campuses.
  •  Students starting their full programs at Curtin's, be it undergraduate or master.
  • Students who don’t have any scholarships, it's not allowed to have this scholarship along with any other scholarships or sponsorships. And the University retains the right to revoke the scholarship, in case the recipient has another scholarship.

The Eligible Specialities:

The scholarship includes the following faculties’ students:

  • Business and Law
  • Health Sciences
  • Humanities

  • Science and Engineering: Science and Engineering courses, in addition to Western Australian School of Mines.

Scholarship Value:

This is a partially-funded scholarship, it includes Tuition fees full covering for the period of the student's mainstream course, plus $3,000 allocated for on-campus accommodation. Please note that Meng Fei scholarship doesn't cover any other expenses for international student. So healthcare, commuting expenses, and pocket money aren't included.

Required Documents:

  • three motivation letters to your scholarship application as follows; First one consists of 300 words, introduce yourself and explain why do you think you should be awarded this scholarship. The second one also consists of 300 words, explain your own perspective of leadership and innovation concepts. The third one is not restricted to 300 words, you can write as long as you want. You are asked here to envisage your future, by telling how the course you are choosing to study at Curtin's will assist you to become a future leader or innovator.

As for international application for admission form, it's required to attach the following documents:

  • Certified documentary evidence of your proficiency in English, like TOEFL and IELTS. And in case your command of English isn't that great, you can simply apply for Curtin English pathway program.

  • Original Copy of your academic award/s and transcript/s.

  • Evidence of your work experience, if required by the course you are applying for.
