Opportunity description

Richmond, The American International University in London, recognizes academic excellence. To award outstanding achievement and provide an opportunity for those who do not have the means to fund the full or partial costs of advancing their studies, the University, in collaboration with the Sir Cyril Taylor Foundation, is offering a range of scholarships for international students. Scholarships are available for international students who have received an offer to study on a postgraduate program (course) starting in September 2019 or January 2020.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Scholarships are available to candidates from all countries who meet the criteria below and demonstrate financial need.
  2. Demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum CGPA 3.0 or international equivalent degree classification. 
  3. Demonstrate English Language Proficiency with either an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each component or a TOEFL IBT score of 80. (You can check the opportunity official page for more details about the language requirements) 
  4. Demonstrate the following Scholarships Criteria :
  • Criteria 1: Demonstrate Academic Excellence
  • Criteria 2: Demonstrate how you will be an advocate and ambassador for change in your country and your chosen career
  • Criteria 3: Demonstrate the relevance of the programme that you have applied to your career aspirations.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Students must have been offered a Conditional or Unconditional study place (excluding, study abroad, undergraduate, summer school exchange students).
  2. Students must be categorized as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes.
  3. Students should not have undertaken previous postgraduate study in the UK.
  4. Students must meet UK Immigration and comply with the regulation.
  5. Students who are sponsored (fees are being paid) by their employers, government or a funding body (full / part) are not eligible to apply for these scholarship awards.
  6. Applicants are only able to apply for a scholarship once per academic year per offer of a place on a qualifying course.
  7. Applicants are only eligible to apply for a scholarship if they are due to enroll in September 2019 or January 2020.
  8. Scholarships are not transferable and will not be awarded if you choose to defer your entry to a different start date, or if you choose to transfer to a different course at the University.
  9. The University will not bear any responsibility for the coverage of travel costs, visa application charges, incidental expenses and any other costs incurred before and during the period of study.
  10. The University reserves the right to rescind a scholarship offer in the event that fraudulent claims or documentation have been used in a scholarship or programme application.

Scholarship Benefits:

The University is offering 25 scholarships for excellent students with the following details:

  • The Tuition Scholarships and Tuition and Accommodation Scholarships do not have an effective cash value – Scholarships are represented in the total deduction of tuition.
  • If you are awarded A Full Tuition and Accommodation Scholarship, the University will be an official sponsor for the cost of tuition and accommodation only
  • You will be required to demonstrate that you have the minimum maintenance funds required (£11,385) for a UK student Visa.
