The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) invites international students to apply for the Undergraduate Academic Merit Scholarship that covers 15% to 50% of tuition fees each semester. Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis. Once all scholarships have been awarded for a semester, no further scholarship applications will be accepted.
Eligibility criteria:
[1] Applications are open to students of any citizenship
[2] Applications are open to new (entry level) students
[3] Applicants must meet all of the academic and admission criteria to be admitted to the University and be intending to enroll in the relevant session for which they have applied
[4] Applicants must have received the following grades:
- UAE Secondary School Certificate (Thannawiya Amma): a grade of 98% for a 50% scholarship, a grade of 90% for a 25% scholarship or 85% for a 15% scholarship
- International Baccalaureate: a grade of 40 for a 50% scholarship, a grade of 35 for a 25% scholarship or a grade of 30 for a 15% scholarship
[5] Scholarships awarded to students are reviewed annually at the beginning of Autumn semester (unless otherwise stated)
[6] Applicants must enroll in a minimum of three subjects (mandatory) in Autumn and Spring
[7] Applicants must maintain a cumulative WAM of ≥75 (50% scholarship), a cumulative WAM of ≥65 (25% scholarship) or a cumulative WAM of ≥55 (15% scholarship). They also must not receive no “Fail” (F or TF) grades
[8] Scholarship holders’ academic performance will be reviewed prior to the commencement of Autumn semester each year to establish compliance with these academic requirements. If a scholarship holder has no fail grades, but does not meet the minimum WAM requirement for his or her scholarship, the amount of the scholarship will be reduced from 50% to 25%, 25% to 15%, 15% to 0% as the case applies
What the scholarship covers:
The undergraduate Academic Merit Scholarship at UOWD covers 15% - 50% of tuition fees each semester. The scholarship does not include textbooks, excursions, accommodation, living expenses or any other study-related expenses.
