Up-and-coming Intern Festival for Young Filmmakers in Germany (Online Edition 2021)

Film Free Way is inviting young filmmakers up to the age of 27 years from all over the world to participate in the up-and-coming Intern International Film Festivalin Germany. This year there is a special online edition of the festival because of the pandemic. The festival will stream the selected films from safe servers that you can only access with a personal registration.

• The festival is both a German and international competition.
• At the end of the festival, the jury will award prizes: 'UP-AND-COMING INTERNATIONAL FILM AWARD' in the international competition and 'Deutscher Nachwuchsfilmpreis' (GERMAN NEWCOMER AWARD) in the national competition.
• For the first time, there will be the 'up-and-coming Audience Film Award'.

• Young directors not older than 27 years from all countries are invited to submit their films (produced either alone or in groups).
• Applicants may enter one or more works.
• All works must have been completed after the 1st of September 2019.
• If the original language of the film is neither English nor German, the film should be subtitled in one of these two languages. Otherwise, an English or German dialogue list should be enclosed.
• There are no limitations regarding the subject or duration of your film.
• There are 2 categories a film can be submitted to the international competition for films from all countries except Germany and the national competition for films only from Germany.
• The director and the team of each selected film are invited to a meeting with the audience and all members of the jury.
• The selection criteria do not emphasize technical perfection but originality, the autonomy of the concept, and how the concept has been translated into film.
