Opportunity description
The University of Bologna invites its students to apply for the Overseas 2027/28 exchange program, which enables participants to spend a term or an academic year at a partner university in a non-EU country. Applications through AlmaRM open on 14 October 2026 and must be submitted by 1:00 p.m. on 12 November 2026.
About the University of Bologna Overseas Exchange Program
The Overseas call is for University of Bologna students who want to study at one of the university’s partner institutions located outside the European Union. The exchange period can be one term or a full academic year. The specific destination depends on the available exchange places and partner universities described in the call materials.
All selected students receive a financial contribution from the University of Bologna. The amount is determined according to the applicant’s economic circumstances as shown in the 2026 ISEE certification. Students must submit the certification titled “Attestazione ISEE per prestazioni per il diritto allo studio universitario” by 30 October 2026.
Applicants should review the call for applications, the information sheets for partner universities and the Guidelines for the overseas study project. They should also check the language requirements, read the FAQs carefully and attend the information sessions focused on specific geographic areas. The online application is submitted through AlmaRM, starting on 14 October.
The first ranking lists for the different exchange places are due to be published on 19 January 2027. Successful applicants must accept their preferred exchange place online by 11:59 p.m. on 20 January. Students who do not appear among the winners on the first lists should check the updated rankings, scheduled for publication on 21 January. Newly selected applicants must accept their assigned place online by 11:59 p.m. on 22 January 2027.
Accepting an exchange place is final. Once accepted, the choice cannot be changed, and the student is automatically removed from other ranking lists where they were previously selected or listed as an eligible candidate. Applicants for Teaching Assistant and Research Fellow positions should also check the dates of the mandatory application interviews. Students comparing international study options can browse exchange programs and study-abroad opportunities or explore other opportunities for young people.
