The scholarship offers two options: the bi-nationally supervised doctoral degree “Sandwich Model,” where the student begins the doctorate in their home country and then completes research periods in Germany, or the Cotutelle model, which is based on an individual cooperation agreement between the home university and the German university. After graduation, the student may receive a joint doctoral degree from both universities.
