The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) offers a limited number of Danish Government Scholarships for academically outstanding international students from outside the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to enroll in selected bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
The scholarships are awarded to applicants with strong academic qualifications and provide a full tuition fee waiver for the standard duration of the eligible program. Students do not need to submit a separate scholarship application, as eligible applicants are automatically considered when applying to one of the qualifying programs.
This opportunity is particularly suitable for students seeking funded scholarships in Denmark for international students, especially in fields such as engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science, and emerging technologies.

The Danish Government Scholarship at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) includes:

Eligibility criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country outside the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).
- Apply to one of the programs eligible for the scholarship.
- Meet all academic admission and language requirements for the selected program.
- Submit all required documents in full as part of the admission application.
- For master’s applicants, the scholarship-eligible program must be their highest-priority choice if they apply to more than one program at SDU.
- Not be eligible for the Danish State Grant, as it cannot be combined with this scholarship.
Eligible Programs
For master’s degree applicants, the scholarship currently covers the following programs at the Sønderborg campus:
- MSc in Engineering – Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
- MSc in Engineering – Mechanical Engineering.
- MSc in Engineering – Mechatronics.
For bachelor’s degree applicants, the scholarship covers the following programs at the Vejle campus:
- BSc in Artificial Intelligence.
- BSc in Computer Science.
- BSc in Interactive Technology Engineering.
- BSc in Software Engineering.
