The Vienna Business Agency announces the opening of applications for Content Vienna 2026, a competition dedicated to supporting creative digital projects that are still under development in fields such as digital games, virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, animation, interactive applications, digital platforms, and digital content design.
The competition aims to enable developers, designers, startups, studios, individuals, and associations to develop their digital ideas and transform them into projects that can be produced and implemented.
The 2026 edition also includes a special award for Digital Design for Health, dedicated to creative digital projects related to the health sector.
Eligible Fields
Creative digital projects under development may be submitted in areas such as:
- Digital games and interactive media.
- Augmented, virtual, and extended reality: AR / VR / XR.
- Animation, visual effects, and 360-degree video.
- Digital Design for Health.
- Interactive storytelling formats.
- Web and mobile applications.
- Blockchain and Web3 projects.
- Digital content publishing and distribution platforms.
- Serial digital content.
- Digital applications for wearable devices.
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Quantum computing or related digital visualizations.
Award Value
- 5 production grants: €10,000 for each project.
- Special Digital Design for Health award: €10,000.
- Additional bonus for projects led by women: €1,000 for each eligible winning project.
- Up to 5 additional projects may receive the Content Vienna Connecting – South by Southwest award.

Eligibility criteria
- Developers, studios, startups, companies, individuals, and associations can apply.
- The applicant must have a residential address, business address, or company address in Vienna.
- The project must be mainly developed or implemented in Vienna.
- Or Vienna must have a clear thematic or creative connection to the project.
- The project must be under development, such as a prototype, demo version, or scalable concept.
- Only one project may be submitted per applicant, whether an individual, company, or association.
