The Brandtech Group, in partnership with One Young World, is offering a fully funded scholarship to select five young African leaders who use artificial intelligence responsibly and innovatively to address social, environmental, health, or educational challenges.
Selected participants will attend the One Young World Summit 2026, taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 3 to 6, 2026. They will also join an international network of young leaders and experts in technology and artificial intelligence.
Areas Supported by the Scholarship
The scholarship supports initiatives that use artificial intelligence in one or more of the following areas:
- Promoting sustainability and addressing climate change.
- Improving access to education, developing learning systems, and increasing productivity.
- Combating misinformation, online hate, and social harm.
- Advancing social justice and equality.
- Improving access to healthcare services and addressing health inequalities.
- Supporting mental health and well-being.
- Strengthening citizen participation in public issues.
- Applying artificial intelligence positively and responsibly in other areas with proven impact.
Responsibilities
The five selected applicants will receive:
- A fully funded place at the One Young World Summit 2026.
- Coverage of round-trip airfare.
- Hotel accommodation in Cape Town from November 2 to 6, 2026.
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the programme.
- Ground transportation between summit venues.
- Access to the Pencil AI generative artificial intelligence platform.
- Lifetime membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community.
- Membership in the Brandtech AI for Good Alumni Network.
- Participation in the One Young World Action Accelerator programme.
- Mentoring sessions delivered by experts to support the development of participants’ initiatives.
- Participation in the Global Kickstart programme to strengthen leadership skills and knowledge of the summit’s key themes.
