Opportunity description

The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom offers Clarendon Scholarships for students applying to study a Master’s or DPhil (PhD) program for the 2027–2028 academic year.

Clarendon is one of the leading fully funded postgraduate scholarship programs in the UK and aims to attract academically outstanding students from around the world to study at the University of Oxford. Clarendon awards more than 200 new fully funded scholarships each year, with more than 230 new scholarships awarded in the 2025–2026 academic year.

The scholarship has no restrictions based on nationality, country of residence, or field of study. It is available for eligible full-time Master’s and DPhil programs, as well as a number of part-time courses.

Benefits

For students admitted to full-time programs, the Clarendon Scholarship includes:

  • Full coverage of course tuition fees.
  • Funding available to both international and UK students.
  • An annual living allowance.
  • The published minimum living allowance is GBP 20,780 per year, based on the 2025–2026 rate.
  • Funding normally continues for the full period during which the student is liable to pay course fees.
  • In some cases, the academic college may agree to provide a living allowance for an additional period beyond the standard fee-liability period.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Apply to begin a new Master’s or DPhil program at the University of Oxford.
  • Meet the academic admission requirements for the chosen program.
  • Submit the admission application by the relevant funding deadline in December or January, depending on the program.
  • Demonstrate an outstanding academic record.
  • Show strong academic and research potential.
  • Submit an application that reflects a strong motivation to pursue the chosen program.
