Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Hold a bachelor's degree with First Class Honours or an equivalent qualification, or expect to obtain one before the start of the program.
Applicants who have not achieved First Class Honours in their bachelor's degree may still qualify if they hold, or expect to obtain, a standalone master's degree with Distinction.
Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and strong research potential.
Propose a research project suitable for one of the academic departments at Imperial College London.
Contact a potential academic supervisor at Imperial College London in advance and obtain their agreement to supervise the proposed research project.
Meet the admission requirements of the chosen PhD program and academic department.
Be a new applicant to a PhD program. Students currently enrolled in a PhD program at Imperial College London are not eligible for this scholarship.
Submit a complete admission application and indicate their intention to be considered for the President’s PhD Scholarship.
