Fully Funded Volunteering Opportunity in Germany in Educational Gaming and Youth Development 2026

Dragon Legion e.V. has announced the opening of applications for a funded individual volunteering opportunity under the European Solidarity Corps program in Cologne, Germany, for a period of up to 52 weeks.

The project aims to build an international youth community by using role-playing games (RPGs) as a tool for non-formal education, youth skill development, teamwork, communication, and helping young people achieve goals they set for themselves.

Volunteers will participate in designing and organizing interactive activities and games that help young people develop their social, language, and personal skills. They will also contribute to projects with schools, organize international events, create digital content, and manage social media platforms.

The organization’s international environment offers volunteers the opportunity to collaborate with youth workers and volunteers from different European countries and develop innovative ideas that can be used in education, cultural exchange, and youth work.

This opportunity is suitable for young people interested in educational games, youth work, event organization, content creation, non-formal education, and the development of creative projects.

Volunteering Duration

The volunteering opportunity lasts for a total of up to:

• 52 weeks, equivalent to approximately 12 months.

The activity may take place during the following period:

• From November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2027.

Training During the Activity

The volunteer will receive practical training on how to use role-playing games in youth work.

Training and development include:

• Designing games and activities suitable for young people.
• Using games in non-formal education.
• Developing methods for language learning through games.
• Designing social learning activities.
• Organizing youth events and projects.
• Managing projects independently.
• Developing leadership and initiative-taking skills.
• Working within an international team.
• Managing social media platforms.
• Preparing and producing visual content.
• Developing projects with schools.
• Building an international youth network.

Benefits and Funding

The selected volunteer will receive the following benefits:

• Free accommodation throughout the project.
• Housing in a shared apartment with three other volunteers.
• A separate private room for each volunteer.
• A shared kitchen within the apartment.
• A monthly allowance to cover food expenses.
• A free transportation pass for use within Cologne and the areas covered by the pass.
• Access to local trains and buses.
• The possibility of renting bicycles through the transportation pass, depending on the available system.
• Practical training in designing educational games.
