Asociația “Luna și noi” has announced the opening of applications for a fully funded volunteering opportunity under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program in the Romanian village of Cogealac. The opportunity is part of the Re-Garden project, which will run for 36 weeks.
This opportunity is one of the leading international volunteering programs for young people who want to create a meaningful community impact and gain practical experience in youth work and community volunteering. Volunteers will contribute to developing and improving community spaces, organizing youth activities, delivering creative workshops, painting artistic murals, and helping prepare a new house for volunteers.
The project gives participants the opportunity to live in a peaceful rural environment near the Black Sea coast and work alongside local young people within a small and supportive team. Volunteers will gain practical skills in basic construction work, teamwork, community activity organization, and intercultural communication.
This volunteering opportunity in Romania provides funding that includes free accommodation, a monthly allowance of €300 for food and personal expenses, travel cost coverage, Romanian language lessons, and a comprehensive training and mentoring program throughout the project.

Duties & responsibilities
Volunteer responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the development and improvement of community spaces.
- Participating in the preparation and development of the volunteer house.
- Carrying out simple hands-on maintenance and improvement tasks.
- Organizing local youth activities.
- Preparing and delivering creative workshops.
- Painting murals and creating community artwork.
- Contributing to the organization of community events.
- Working with local young people and encouraging their participation.
- Supporting local community initiatives.
- Participating in outdoor and environmental activities.
- Collaborating with the project team and other volunteers.
- Helping promote the values of solidarity and volunteering.
- Participating in regular meetings and evaluations.
- Supporting cultural activities and intercultural exchange.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old.
- Be motivated to participate in volunteer work.
- Demonstrate initiative and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Be willing to take part in hands-on work and outdoor activities.
- Be interested in working with young people.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Be open to different cultures.
- Be willing to live in a rural area.

- No previous experience is required.
- Be registered on the European Solidarity Corps portal.
