Eligibility criteria
To apply for the UC Doctoral Scholarship, applicants must:
- Apply to pursue a research-based PhD degree at the University of Canterbury.
- Be applying for their first research doctorate; applicants must not already hold a doctoral degree.
- Submit their application for admission to the university’s PhD programme before the scholarship deadline.
- Hold, or be about to complete, an appropriate qualification equivalent to:
- A Bachelor’s degree with First-Class Honours, or
- A Master’s degree with Distinction, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have an academic performance equivalent to a UC GPA of at least 7.0 across the final two years of relevant academic study.
- Not have commenced PhD study at the University of Canterbury more than one year before the scholarship application closing date.
