Klassik Stiftung Weimar invites graduates, post-doctoral researchers, and habilitated scientists to a grants chance which awarded to the following categories:
- Graduate awards:
The graduate awards are for scholars who have obtained above-average results in their degree studies and wish to document the conceptual context of their research project, to be realized in Weimar, by means of a dissertation or equivalent scientific work.
- Post-doctoral awards:
Young graduates who have already completed their doctoral thesis and published their work in relevant journals can apply for a post-doctoral award.
- Residential awards:
The residential awards are for graduates, scholars who have completed their doctoral thesis, and habilitated scientists whose monthly net income exceeds 1,500 Euro and will also do so during the period for which a Weimar award is requested.
Benefits
If you get this grant, you will have:
- the chance to work in all institutions maintained by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar, with preference given to the Goethe and Schiller Archive, the Duchess Anna Amalia Library, and the museums.
- participate in all scientific and cultural events organized by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar.
- scientific research colloquia that are held on a regular basis to guarantee an interdisciplinary exchange of thoughts between award holders during their stay in Weimar.
- Financial assistance is available for a maximum of 6 months:
- Graduates award: 1,000 Euro/month.
- Post-doctoral award: 1,500 Euro/month.
- Residential award:500 Euro/month.
- With the residential awards, it grants scholars a more generous book allowance and a variety of concessions.
Eligibility criteria
You must follow the following criteria:
- Presence of a clear recognizable relationship between the research plan and the Klassik Stiftung Weimar’s collections.
- The applicant’s scientific qualifications.
- The significance of the research plan for the research community.
- The award holders are chosen by a committee comprising staff members at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and members of the Research Council.
- You will obligate to:
- pursue your studies in the Klassik Stiftung Weimar’s institutions.
- take part in regular colloquia during your stay in Weimar.
- present a work report as well as answer some additional questions at the end of your stay in Weimar, and no later than four weeks of the expiration of their award.
- make appropriate mention of the support provided by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar in all publications originating from your stay in Weimar. You must be used the phrase: “This study was supported by an award from the Klassik Stiftung Weimar".
Please note:
- The awards must be taken up within twelve months of being granted.
- Travel expenses cannot usually be subsidized.
