Opportunity description

HUAWEI announces the opening of applications for the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2026, a global smartphone photography and video competition that aims to showcase visual creativity and visual storytelling from around the world. The competition accepts photos and videos captured using HUAWEI phones across several artistic categories, such as portraits, night photography, colors and shadows, active moments, visual storytelling, and short video.

Prizes

  1. Grand Prize: 3 winners will each receive a creative fund worth USD 10,000, in addition to an electronic certificate.
  2. XMAGE 100: 97 winners will each receive a creative fund worth USD 1,500, in addition to an electronic certificate.
  3. The listed cash prizes are before tax deductions.

Available Categories

  1. Far and Near.
  2. Colors and Shadows.
  3. Good Night / Night Photography.
  4. Active Moments.
  5. Faces.
  6. A Warm World.
  7. Experimental Lab.
  8. Storyboard, consisting of 3 to 9 photos.
  9. Motion / Short Video of up to 10 minutes.

Benefits

  1. 3 Grand Prize winners will each receive a creative fund worth USD 10,000, in addition to an electronic certificate.
  2. 97 winners within the XMAGE 100 will each receive a creative fund worth USD 1,500, in addition to an electronic certificate.
  3. A total of 100 winning works will be selected from the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2026.
  4. The competition provides a global opportunity to showcase photos and videos captured using HUAWEI phones before an international judging panel and a wide audience.
  5. Participants can enter across diverse categories, including photography, short video, storyboard, night photography, portraiture, and visual experimentation.
  6. Application is completely free of charge.
  7. Participants from around the world can showcase their works through HUAWEI XMAGE’s global smartphone photography platform.

File Specifications

  1. Photos: JPG, JPEG, or PNG format, with each image not exceeding 30 MB.
  2. Videos: MP4 format, with each video not exceeding 400 MB.
  3. Photos must be captured and edited on a HUAWEI phone, while the use of external editing apps on the phone is allowed.
  4. Videos must be captured using a HUAWEI phone and may be edited on a phone or computer.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applications are open to HUAWEI phone users from all around the world.
  • Applicants must be 18 years old or older, or have reached the legal age of majority in their country.
  • All submitted works must be captured using a HUAWEI phone.
  • There are no restrictions on the HUAWEI phone model used.
  • Works that have previously won other competitions or have been published in public periodicals will not be accepted.
  • The full EXIF information of the work must be retained, as losing it may affect the evaluation.
  • Each participant may upload up to 30 works.
