Indonesian Government KNB Scholarship 2026

The KNB Scholarship (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) is a fully funded scholarship offered by the Government of Indonesia to international students from developing countries. The program aims to strengthen academic cooperation and cultural exchange between Indonesia and other nations.

The scholarship allows students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees at top Indonesian universities across a wide range of academic disciplines, with comprehensive financial support throughout the study period.

• Applications open: February 2026

• Deadline: March 2026

• Results announcement: June 2026

• Study begins: September 2026

Applicants are required to prepare the following documents:

• Valid passport

• Academic certificates (latest degree)

• Official academic transcripts (in English)

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)

• Motivation Letter

• Letters of Recommendation (depending on study level)

• English language proficiency certificate (IELTS / TOEFL)

• Official recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy

• Recent personal photograph

The KNB Scholarship is open to applicants from developing countries, including:

• Middle East & North Africa (MENA)

• Asia

• Africa

• Latin America

Most Arab countries are eligible to apply.

Language:

• Programs are taught in English or Indonesian, depending on the university

• Proof of English proficiency is required:

  • IELTS (usually 5.5 – 6.5)

  • or TOEFL

• A mandatory Indonesian language course (BIPA) is provided before academic study

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen of a developing country

• Not hold Indonesian citizenship

• Age limit:

  • Bachelor’s: up to 21 years

  • Master’s: up to 35 years

  • PhD: up to 40 years

• Hold the required academic qualification

• Provide proof of English proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL)

• Obtain a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy
