Opportunity description
The kunst Foundation announces an international research grant for the visual arts in Denmark.
Benefits
Professional foreign coordinators can apply for a financial grant to cover these expenses:
- Round-trip travel to Denmark.
- Domestic transportation for distances longer than 15 km in Denmark.
- Accommodation costs in Denmark.
The scholarship will not cover the following expenses:
- Local transportation for distances of less than 15 km.
- Visa costs.
- Travel insurance.
- Entrance fees
Important Notes:
- The duration of this research trip ranges from 3 to 7 days.
- The maximum amount you can apply for/receive is DKK 15,000.
- Applicants must organize meetings and studio visits themselves.
Eligibility criteria
- Non-Danish curators of art institutions and other art professionals working in the field of contemporary art through professional curation, art criticism or mediation can apply for this opportunity.
- Curators, directors of arts organizations and other artistic professionals from outside Denmark can apply for this opportunity to be funded for their travel and stay in Denmark.
- The program is primarily aimed at applicants who already have connections to the Danish art scene or candidates who wish to develop a project involving specific Danish artists or institutions.
- Applicants must be able to organize meetings and studio visits themselves.
Your application will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Your research journey should be linked as closely as possible to specific future projects related to professional sponsorship, art criticism or mediation.
- Your visit should enhance and strengthen the international networks of Danish artists and/or art institutions.
- Your visit should play a crucial role in promoting external awareness of Danish artists and/or Danish art institutions.
- Your visit should enhance the specific collaborations between the Danish and foreign art scenes.
- You will receive the committee's decision via email within 3 weeks after submitting your application.
About Kunst:
The Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Visual Arts Project Funding wishes to promote contemporary art in Denmark and Danish contemporary art abroad by allowing foreign curators to meet Danish artists and gain insight into the Danish contemporary art scene with a view to future collaborations.
