Opportunity description
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor in Oman, seeks to train more than 4,000 Omanis in various technical disciplines and provide them with the skills required for freelance and entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the Udacity platform. The Makeen Nanodegrees Program is a fully funded scholarship aimed at upskilling Omani nationals in the four required technical disciplines:
- Digital Marketing
- Data fundamentals
- Product management.
- Front-end website development.
The scholarship provides learners with the opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience and prepare to work independently, as well as broaden their knowledge of the latest market trends through an exclusive interactive learning experience.

- Obtaining a nano certificate for self-employment from McCain.
- Participation in the Freelance Partner Program (FPP), an independent program run by Udacity that aims to support Udacity alumni in obtaining a paid freelance job (online project), seeking each participant in the program to have paid freelance work by the end of the 3 Months. Eligible students in this program will be put to work on Freelancer.com, which is the best freelancing website.
- Participate in the scholarship's Online community, which will enable you to interact with your peers and career coaches during the program on the Udacity platform, in order to share your experiences and knowledge and support each other.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants for the first phase must meet the following criteria:
- To be permanent residents or citizens of the Sultanate of Oman.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Meet the technical requirements required for the relevant Nanodegree.
- Must be committed to the timeframes of the program.
