The Korea Marine Industry Association, in collaboration with the Busan Metropolitan Government, has launched the Marine Content Competition 2026, an international competition designed to raise awareness about the importance of seas and oceans while encouraging creativity in producing content related to the marine environment and sustainable development.
The competition offers participants the opportunity to compete in two main categories: short-form video production and innovative marine-inspired gift and product ideas. Winners will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to showcase their work during the World Ocean Forum 2026 in South Korea.
Competition Categories
1. Short-form Video Category
Create a short video between 40 and 60 seconds highlighting the importance of the sea or marine environment.
Available Topics:
- The sea means... to me.
- My vision for the future of seas and oceans.
- How I contribute to protecting the marine environment.
2. Goods Idea Category
Submit an innovative idea for a gift or product inspired by the sea.
Eligible Areas:
- Lifestyle products (cups, bags, clothing, keychains, and similar items).
- Eco-friendly and recycled products.
- Creative products and character-based merchandise.
- Educational and interactive products.
The use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted in this category.
Prizes
Short-form Video Category
- First Prize: KRW 1,000,000.
- Two Second Prizes: KRW 700,000 each.
- Two Third Prizes: KRW 300,000 each.
- Additional encouragement awards, certificates, and commemorative gifts.
Goods Idea Category
- First Prize: KRW 700,000.
- Two Second Prizes: KRW 350,000 each.
- Five Third Prizes: KRW 200,000 each.
- Additional encouragement awards, certificates, and commemorative gifts.
