The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, is offering 10 online volunteering opportunities to support regional data analysis at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean in Egypt. The assignment will last for 12 weeks.
This opportunity is suitable for individuals interested in data analysis and public health. Selected volunteers will analyze data submitted by countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region on progress made in implementing action plans related to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

Duties & responsibilities
The 10 online volunteers will participate in a range of tasks, including:
- Extracting data from PDF files submitted by countries through the TrACSS platform.
- Cleaning, organizing, and structuring data for selected indicators.
- Preparing analytical outputs, including tables, charts, and data visualizations.
- Summarizing key findings in concise reports.
- Comparing current data with data from previous years for the same variables.
- Developing a dashboard to present and analyze the results.
- Documenting the workflow and methodology to support capacity building and enable future use of the process.
Eligibility criteria
The World Health Organization is looking for volunteers with experience or an academic background in one of the following fields:
- Public Health.
- Microbiology.
- Epidemiology.
- Nursing.
- Veterinary Medicine.
- Engineering.
- Medicine.
- Health Sciences or related fields.
- Data Science.
Applicants are also expected to have:
- Experience in data cleaning.
- The ability to perform statistical data analysis.
- Skills in data visualization.
- Knowledge of and experience using at least one statistical software tool for health-related data.
- Fluent English.
- Working knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage, but is not mandatory.
