The Sony World Photography Awards Youth Competition 2027 invites young photographers from around the world to submit outstanding single images as part of one of the world’s most renowned photography competitions.
The competition aims to support young talent in photography and give participants the opportunity to gain global exposure through the London exhibition, the annual book, and promotion across the World Photography Organisation platforms.
The competition is open to all styles of photography. Participants can submit their best images taken during 2026, provided that they are related to the specified competition theme.

Eligibility criteria
- The competition is open to photographers from all countries around the world.
- Applicants must be 19 years old or younger by the competition closing date.
- Young photographers of all nationalities may participate.
- Parental or legal guardian consent is required if the participant is under 16 years old.
- Each participant may submit up to 3 photos for free.
- Each photo is judged individually, not as a photo series.
Photo Requirements
- Photos must have been taken during 2026.
- The photo must be in JPEG format.
- The photo size must be between 1 MB and 5 MB.
- The photo must be saved in the sRGB color space.
- The participant must be the owner and original photographer of the image.
- The photo may be edited, but the type of editing must be explained in the image description.
- The original image must not be entirely computer-generated or AI-generated.
- The photo must not violate the intellectual property rights or privacy rights of any other party.
- Consent must be obtained from any people appearing in the photo.
- The photo must not include commercial content, watermarks, or inappropriate personal metadata.
