Opportunity description

Klassik Stiftung Weimar offers scholarship opportunity; Werner Keller Scholarship. It is awarded to German and foreign researchers to finance three-month research visits to Weimar. The scholarship holders can conduct their research at the Goethe and Schiller Archive, the Goethe National Museum, and the Duchess Anna Amalia Library. 

Benefits

If you join this scholarship, you will have:

  •  1,000 euros per month.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses can be negotiated on an individual basis.
  • The Goethe Society provides single-room accommodation for its scholarship recipients. 

Please note: You are required to contribute between 100 and 200 euros to their monthly rent depending on the accommodation. 

Eligibility criteria

You must follow the following criteria:

  1. You must work on an academic thesis, dissertation, habilitation, or translation. 
  2. The authors of the selected papers are expected to write a short final report on their activities in Weimar. 
  3. If one’s research findings are published in the Goethe Yearbook, the candidate is kindly asked to mention the financing provided by the Goethe Society.
  4. You must hold a valid foreign health insurance policy which must be concluded prior to leaving one’s country of origin.
