Opportunity description
The Global Education Challenge 2026 by Social Shifters and Fitch Group invites young people and social entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30 to submit innovative solutions and projects that help improve access to free, high-quality education in communities.
The challenge focuses on supporting youth-led projects that address education-related issues, such as low literacy and numeracy skills, education in rural and remote areas, financial inclusion through education, and reducing gender gaps in education.
Benefits
Grant funding totaling USD 55,000.
The opportunity to receive funding of up to USD 15,000 per project.
Participation is completely free.
The challenge is held online and does not require travel.
Free support for participants, including learning materials, mentoring, support webinars, and technical assistance.
Finalists receive special pitch coaching.
An opportunity to access additional opportunities such as networking, learning, fellowships, and paid work opportunities.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants may apply if their project meets the following requirements:
- The project founder or team leaders must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of application.
- The project must be clearly youth-led, with young people owning 51% or more of the project or holding decision-making authority.
- The project must aim to address a clear social or environmental problem, preferably one related to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
- Both registered and unregistered projects may apply. However, if the project is officially registered, it must not have been registered for more than 5 years.
Applicants from most countries around the world are eligible to apply. However, submissions are not accepted from some countries subject to UK financial restrictions, such as Russia, Belarus, Syria, North Korea, Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela.
