The United Nations Information Centre in Cairo (UNIC Cairo) is offering 10 online volunteering opportunities to support the United Nations Day in Egypt 2026 – UN Day 2026 campaign by assisting the organizing team with participant registration, digital coordination, information management, and communication with participants throughout the campaign activities.
The volunteering opportunity lasts for 4 weeks, with an expected commitment of 1 to 5 hours per week, and is carried out entirely online. This makes it suitable for individuals seeking practical experience with a United Nations entity in areas such as event organization, communication, participant management, and digital coordination.
Volunteers will contribute to preparations for United Nations Day activities and the campaign’s accompanying awards ceremony. They will also help organize information related to participants, speakers, and guests, prepare schedules and digital materials, track activities, and collect participant feedback.

Duties & responsibilities
Volunteers will support the United Nations Day campaign by:
- Assisting with online registration and participant accreditation.
- Organizing information related to participants, guests, and speakers.
- Reviewing submitted registration data.
- Preparing digital registration lists for campaign activities and the awards ceremony.
- Assisting in preparing digital information related to the events.
- Preparing and organizing schedules, information, and digital materials needed for the campaign.
- Supporting participants by providing instructions, schedules, and updates through approved digital communication channels.
- Organizing information received from speakers, jury members, guests, and other stakeholders.
- Preparing coordination lists and follow-up materials.
- Tracking campaign activities and maintaining updated records and trackers.
- Documenting procedures and follow-up points before, during, and after campaign activities.
- Assisting with the distribution of campaign materials.
- Collecting and organizing participant feedback submitted online.
- Contributing to the preparation of a consolidated summary of participant feedback after the campaign.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants should preferably have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling information.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced event environment.
- The ability to organize data and lists and follow up on assigned tasks.
- Native-level proficiency in Arabic.
- Good working knowledge of English.
- Good command and understanding of the Egyptian dialect; applicants who are familiar with Egyptian conversational Arabic are particularly encouraged to apply.
