The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine have announced the opening of applications for the U.S.-Arab Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Symposium 2027. This international scientific program aims to bring together young researchers and emerging leaders from the United States and Arab countries to discuss the latest developments in science, engineering, and medicine.

The symposium will be held in Kuwait City from February 1 to 3, 2027, in partnership with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). The 2027 edition will address advanced scientific topics such as computational methodologies for scientific discovery, sensing technologies, interactions between metabolism and immunity, water security, and new space.   • The applicant must be employed or working in the United States or in one of the Arab League countries.
  • The applicant is not required to hold the nationality of the country where they reside or work.
  • The applicant must have clear achievements in scientific research, engineering, medical research, or technical work.
  • The applicant must have recognized contributions to the development of their field.
  • The applicant should be interested in scientific developments in other fields and willing to engage with researchers from different disciplines.
  • The applicant must be able to understand how developments and technologies in other fields may relate to their own area of work.
  • The applicant must demonstrate impact in developing their country through participation in scientific projects, scientific meetings, or activities that contribute to strengthening science and technology within society.
