Opportunity description

World Robot Games Egypt (WRG Egypt) has opened registration for the official 2026 National Robotics Championship in Egypt, a technology competition targeting students and young people interested in robotics, programming, artificial intelligence, engineering, and innovation.

The championship brings together teams from different governorates across Egypt to compete in a variety of hands-on challenges that require designing, programming, and testing robots, as well as solving engineering problems. The 2026 Egypt Championship will take place on September 2, 2026, and will be hosted by the Egyptian Space Agency as the championship’s strategic partner.

The competition is part of the global World Robot Games, which brings together participants from more than 40 countries. National champions in Egypt may qualify to join the national team and represent Egypt at the World Finals in Japan, scheduled to take place from November 16 to 19, 2026.

Competition Categories

WRG Egypt 2026 features seven competitive categories:

  • Innovative Robot: Design and build an innovative robot that provides a solution to a real-world problem. Projects are evaluated based on innovation, engineering, and impact. Age category: 8–19 years.
  • Incredible Machine: Design a machine based on a connected sequence of mechanisms and interactions to complete a specific task. Age category: 8–99 years.
  • Programming Line Tracking: Program an autonomous robot to follow a designated track with the highest possible speed and accuracy. Age category: 8–19 years.
  • Robot Soccer: A football competition between robotic teams that relies on control, strategy, and teamwork. Age category: 8–19 years.
  • Robot Sumo: Design a robot capable of competing against another robot and attempting to push it out of the competition ring. Age category: 8–99 years.
  • RC Ball Fight: Control a robot to collect and launch balls into the opposing team’s area within a specified time. Age category: 8–19 years.
  • One Minute Game: A series of fast-paced robotics challenges in which participants must complete as many tasks as possible within 60 seconds. Age category: 8–19 years.

Teams in the announced categories consist of 2 to 5 participants.

  • Participants must form a team and choose a team name.
  • During registration, applicants must select their governorate, competition category, and age group.
  • Participation is open to teams from different governorates across Egypt.

Qualification Path to Japan

Participating teams progress through several stages:

  • Register for WRG Egypt 2026.
  • Participate in the qualifying rounds and the national championship in Egypt.

  • Qualify to participate in the World Robot Games World Finals in Japan, taking place from November 16 to 19, 2026.
