German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP)

The CATS Fellowship is supported by two prominent research institutions in Germany: Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (the German Institute for International and Security Affairs) and the Centre for Applied Turkey Studies. SWP is considered one of the leading think tanks in Europe, providing independent research and analysis that supports decision-makers in the German government and the European Union on foreign policy and international security issues. The CATS program, on the other hand, is a specialized research initiative focused on Turkish affairs and its regional and international relations. It aims to deepen understanding of political and economic developments in Turkey and their impact on Europe and the wider world. Through this partnership, fellows gain access to an advanced research environment that combines academic expertise with practical application, enabling them to work on strategic issues with real-world impact.
