Stanford University offers the Knight-Hennessy Scholars 2027 program, a prestigious international scholarship program designed to support students who wish to pursue graduate studies at Stanford University across a wide range of programs and fields.
The program allows selected scholars to combine academic study in one of Stanford’s graduate programs with a comprehensive leadership development experience focused on leadership, interdisciplinary thinking, collaboration, and solving global challenges through the King Global Leadership Program.
Benefits
Selected scholars receive funding for up to 3 years, including:
- Coverage of tuition and associated university fees.
- A living and academic expenses stipend, which may cover:
- Housing and meals.
- Books and study materials.
- Academic supplies.
- Local transportation.
- Reasonable personal expenses.
- An annual travel stipend to help cover one economy-class round-trip ticket to and from Stanford.
- A one-time relocation stipend for new scholars to help with moving expenses or the purchase of certain technology-related supplies.
- The possibility of receiving additional funding during the second and third years to participate in academic enrichment activities such as conferences.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants for the 2027 cohort must meet the following requirements:
- Apply to a full-time graduate degree program at Stanford University and be admitted to that program.
- Have earned their first bachelor’s degree in January 2020 or later.
- Students who will graduate before September 2027 are also eligible to apply.
- For applicants with military service, the bachelor’s degree eligibility window extends to January 2018 or later.
- Applicants may apply from any country in the world; there are no restrictions based on nationality, previous university, or field of study.
- Applicants must also meet the admission requirements of their chosen Stanford graduate program.
