Fully Funded University of Cambridge Scholarship in the UK for Master’s and PhD Studies

The University of Cambridge offers the Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2027/2028, a fully funded international scholarship for students from outside the United Kingdom who wish to pursue a master’s or PhD degree at the university.

The scholarship aims to attract academically outstanding students who demonstrate strong leadership potential and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. The scholarship covers the core costs of studying at Cambridge, including tuition fees, a living allowance, travel costs, visa fees, and the associated health surcharge, with the possibility of additional support for certain academic or family-related needs, subject to the program’s conditions.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is fully funded and includes:

• Full coverage of tuition fees at the University of Cambridge.
• A living allowance for the approved funding period.
• One economy-class airfare to the United Kingdom at the beginning of the program.
• One economy-class return airfare after completing the program.
• Coverage of visa costs.
• Coverage of the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
• The possibility of receiving additional funding for conferences and academic activities, subject to the scholarship’s conditions.
• The possibility of receiving family support for students with children, in accordance with the applicable criteria.
• Additional discretionary funding in special circumstances, subject to Gates Cambridge policies.
• Membership in the international community and global network of Gates Cambridge Scholars and Alumni.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen of a country outside the United Kingdom.
• Apply to an eligible postgraduate program at the University of Cambridge.
• Be applying for an eligible master’s or PhD program covered by the scholarship.
• Have a strong academic record and demonstrate clear academic excellence.
• Clearly explain why they have chosen the program and how it relates to their academic and professional goals.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community.
• Show a clear commitment to contributing to the improvement of the lives of others.
