The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has opened applications to participate in the IRENA Youth Forum 2027, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, as part of the 17th Session of the IRENA Assembly and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
The main forum activities will take place on January 6–7, 2027, followed by a closing session on January 8, with additional youth activities continuing until January 13, 2027. This year’s forum focuses on the theme “Youth Powering the Future: Grids, Storage, and Resilience for Renewable Energy Systems.”

Eligibility criteria
- Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of the forum.
- Be of any nationality worldwide.
- Be actively involved or genuinely interested in areas such as:
- Renewable energy.
- Sustainability.
- Innovation.
- Climate action.
- Or fields related to the energy transition.
- Be involved in or contributing to a project, startup, research initiative, advocacy campaign, or other activity that supports the transition to clean energy.
- Demonstrate an interest in collaborating with young people and international partners and in expanding the impact of their initiatives.
- Complete the application in English.
