Benefits
- The value of this scholarship is £5,000 and awarded as a tuition fee waiver.
- The scholarship is awarded each year of study, up to a maximum of 5 years at £25,000.
- All scholarship awards are offered on an unconditional basis.
- All scholarship awards are deducted from tuition fees and are not paid directly to any applicant.
Eligibility criteria
- To be eligible for an award, applicants must:
- Be studying a full time, undergraduate programme excluding programmes in the School of Medicine or the School of Dentistry.
- Be domiciled in Africa.
- Be classified by the University of Dundee as an International Fee-paying student.
- The programme must have a tuition fee of £18,950 or above. Programmes at a lower fee are not eligible.
- If you are in receipt of a Global Excellence award at £2,000 per year of study, and your country of domicile is eligible for a regional scholarship, then the University will issue the higher value award – you cannot be in receipt of both awards.
- If an applicant has an external scholarship which covers the full tuition fee, then they are no longer eligible to receive a regional scholarship. The University will not pay any money directly to the applicant and the award cannot be transferred.
- If an applicant has paid their tuition fees in full prior to being awarded a regional Scholarship, the value of the scholarship will be refunded to the applicant after they have enrolled at the University of Dundee. Alternatively, this can be transferred to the University accommodation account balance (if applicable).
- If an applicant withdraws from their programme of study, the University Fees department will be in contact regarding payment of fees and scholarship balance.
