Opportunity To Win Prizes That Worth $127,000 At Taipei International Design Award 2021

Taipei City Government invites designers from all parts of the world to participate in the 2021 Taipei International Design Award. 

About The Award: 

Taipei City Government organizes the Taipei International Design Award in the ethos of “Design for Adaptive City”, as an on-going gesture to the world, particularly to those with a passion for creativeness and design, a gesture in projecting the urban branding imagery of “Design Taipei; Dream Taipei. The competition was known as Taipei Industrial Design Award between 2008 and 2011, re-named in 2012 as Taipei International Design Award, and has been so-called since.

Designers from all parts of the world are invited to participate with original creations completed after 30 June 2017. Entries are accepted in these three main categories: Industrial Design, Visual Communication Design, and Public Space Design. 

Award Categories: 

• Industrial Design — refers to design works that can be mass-produced, including general and digital application, transportation tools, equipment and instruments, daily utilities and household goods, IT and home appliances, etc.
• Visual Communication Design — includes designs of digital graphics creations, identity, posters, packaging, and printing – including digital, etc.
• Public Space Design — designs for open space provided for public use, government buildings and certain private establishments. 

The competition sums up to a total prize fund of NT$ 3,800,000 — which is more than $127,000 (USD). 

• Everyone around the world is welcomed to participate individually or as a group (each group is limited to five members) with one member as the main correspondent.
• Entries must be original creations of the contestants completed after June 30, 2017.

Applying Requirements: 

• Documents: 

1. All entries need to be registered online and obtain a serial number to complete registration.
2. Applicant must upload design concept description, max. 500 words. (English as the main language supported by other languages when necessary).
3. Applicant must upload the name of the work (English as the main language, supported by other languages when necessary). 

• Sketches: 

1. Industrial Design Category: Maximum 3 photos of the same work from different angles. Compressed photos can be in jpg/png/bmp formats of the size W1190*H840 pixels, resolution above 72 dpi. Max. 3MB per photo.
2. Visual Communication Design Category: Maximum 3 photos of the same work. Compressed photos can be in jpg/png/bmp formats of the size W1190*H840 pixels, resolution above 72 dpi. Max. 3MB per photo. Applicant must keep the original file.
3. Public Space Design Category: Maximum 5 photos of the same work from different angles. Compressed photos can be in jpg/png/bmp formats of the size W1190*H840 pixels, resolution above 72 dpi. Max. 3MB per photo.
