The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) has launched the Princess Basma Award for Development and Community Service 2019 in its eighth edition.
Award Goal and Theme:
The award aims at honoring development efforts and encouraging creativity and excellence in the field of development work. The committee has chosen this year "Entrepreneurship" as the main theme of the award, because of its importance in creating positive change in the community and it's great role in affecting the youth.
Conditions:
- Applications for candidacy are accepted by an individual, group of individuals or companies of all ages.
- Candidates must have the desire to introduce social entrepreneurship to their existing business or to the prototype of their entrepreneurial work.
- The pilot work should be established and functioning, and its concept and initial model should be complete provided that it is demonstrated through a plan of action.
- Team members must be fully committed to participate in the Innovation Forum during the period from 24 to 26 August 2019.
- If there are participants under the age of 18 years, they should bring the consent of the guardian .
- The Committee shall be entitled to use any special images or recordings taken during the Innovation Forum.
General Criteria:
- The pioneering work should include a clear social message that contributes to the adoption of a social cause.
- The majority of the profits of the leading financial business must be obtained through business, not through grants or financiers.
- 20-40% of the profits of the entrepreneurial work must be reinvested in order to benefit the social cause adopted by the employer.
- Leading work should be accountable and transparent.
Prize Value:
The winning projects will be awarded with the following:
- First prize: JOD 10000.
- Second Prize: JOD 7000.
- Third Prize: JOD 5000.
