Opportunity description

Curtin University in Australia is offering a Ph.D. scholarship in Artificial Intelligence or Data Analysis. The Ph.D. scholarship is funded by the Optus-Curtin Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence to help make breakthroughs in the medical and healthcare sector with the use of AI technologies. The project will focus on developing data-driven techniques to help radiologists manage the data deluge that comes with higher scan resolution and the use of cross-modality of information informing decisions around a scan. These methods can then be used to determine the cause of unnecessary scans and provide solutions such as algorithms for local evidence-based guidance. Students will benefit from working with a core multidisciplinary team with the main interest in driving excellence through the utilization of AI technologies.

Benefits

  • This scholarship provides a living stipend if $35,000.00 per annum, based on full-time studies, for up to a maximum of 3.5 years.
  • If the successful candidate is an international student, the scholarship will cover tuition fees offset for the duration of the award.

Eligibility criteria

  • Any student who wishes to obtain a Ph.D. in one of the areas of artificial intelligence, expert systems, or data analysis.
  • Full-time enrolment.
  • Meet the prior study eligibility for the project.
  • Successful recipients must also not be in receipt of any other scholarship.
