Danish Arts Foundation offers a grant opportunity valued at $10,900 max. to the professionals who organize or work with international performing arts activities to support their creative thinking and innovative ideas. This grant program has been designed to promote performing arts of high artistic quality in Denmark and Danish performing arts abroad.
Benefits
If you get this opportunity, you will have a grant of a maximum of:
- DKK 75.000 (~ $10,900)
- The prioritizes the following expenditures for different project types:
- International guest performances in Denmark: accommodation and domestic transport costs
- International touring activities: travel and transport costs
- Networking activities: travel and accommodation costs up to DKK 15.000 (~ $2,200)
- International guests at Danish performances: up to DKK 2.000 per guest
- Artist residencies lasting more than three weeks

Eligibility criteria
You should aware of the following criteria:
- This grant is for professionals organizing or working with performing arts activities.
- Funding for artistic work that breaks with traditional genres or that is simply hard to define.
- If your project combines two or more different art forms on equal terms, you may split up your project into separate subprojects and submit separate applications for each subproject to different funding programs.
- This grant is not for:
- The Royal Danish Theatre, the Danish regional theatres, the Jutland Opera, and the theatres in the Copenhagen theatre association.
- Students at the Danish National School of Performing Arts or a similar foreign educational institution, if they have not graduated before the application deadline.
- You cannot receive funding for the following purposes:
- activities initiated ahead of the deadline.
- expenses related to new productions.
- educational purposes for individuals.
Please note:
- The committee may decide to grant the application partially and/or award a smaller amount than applied for, based on an overall assessment of the application.
- You will receive the committee’s decision via the Grant Portal within 12 weeks after the application deadline.
Evaluation Criteria:
The most important criteria in the assessment of applications are:
- Quality of the artistic production.
- A clear artistic idea as well as the ability to realize it.
- The societal relevance of the project.
- The artistic talent.
About Danish Arts Foundation:
The prime aim of the new Danish Arts Foundation is to promote the arts in Denmark and Danish art abroad. The new Danish Arts Foundation consists of twelve specialist committees and a coordinating board of directors.
