Each year, Rotary funds some of the world's most dedicated and brightest leaders to study at Rotary Peace Centers; through training, study, and practice, Rotary Peace Fellows become catalysts for peace and development. Many go on to careers with governments, NGOs, the military, law enforcement, and international organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank.

About the Fellowships:

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for leaders with work experience in peace and development. Then, the fellows are committed to the community and international service and the pursuit of peace.

Each year, The Rotary Foundation awards up to 50 fellowships for master’s degrees and 50 for certificate studies at premier universities.

  • Master’s degree programs: Accepted candidates study peace and development issues with research-informed teaching and a diverse student body. The program lasts 15 to 24 months and includes a 2-3 month field study, which participants design themselves.
  • Professional development certificate program: Experienced leaders gain practical tools for promoting peace and international development during an intensive, 3-month program, which includes 3 weeks of field study and peer learning opportunities with a diverse group.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in English, with proficiency in a second language, strongly recommended.
  2. Strong commitment to international understanding and peace as demonstrated through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service.
  3. Excellent leadership skills.
  4. For master's degree candidates, a bachelor's degree and at least three years of related full-time work or volunteer experience.
  5. For certificate candidates, at least five years of related full-time work or volunteer experience.

Note: Applicants can take the eligibility quiz before applying.
