Duemila30 International Sustainability Short English Film Festival & Experience

FilmFreeway is inviting filmmakers to take part in DUEMILA30 - International Sustainability Film Festival & Experience competition. Duemila30 is entirely organized by a group of young students. It is meant to encourage the artistic and expressive form of the short film, giving visibility to young aspiring directors.

For this occasion, three days of events - lectures - workshops will be organized, the full program will be published on the website and on the facebook page of the contest.

The chance to meet a host of international filmmakers, from newcomers to Oscar-winning professionals is, we believe, the best way to reward filmmakers for their work and talents. We aim at keeping the events intimate to allow the chance for various filmmakers and other industry personnel to be able to easily meet, network and discuss the screened films.

To be announced.

1. All the shorts films must be student-directed films.
2. There is no participation fee: the contest is entirely free.
3. All the shorts films must either be in English, or submitted with English subtitles. Any non-English language short films with dialogue which have been submitted without English subtitles will not be considered.
4. All short films must have been completed no earlier than January 2020.
5. We will not accept more than two short films from one entrant per year.
6. Please note that if the short film is nominated it is expected that a member of the team attend the Awards Ceremony on the 11th of December* 2022. The date could be subject of any arbitrary change.
7. All the shorts films must take inspiration from the 17 Goals for Sustainable Development of the 2030 UN Agenda. The shorts films must have deal with a clear humanitarian subject matter, which can range from the local to the global and from the social to the environmental. The short film should critically engage audiences, raise awareness about an issue and allow viewers to reflect on the importance and social impact of the topic that is presented, serving either as a call for change or a way of highlighting the details of a current problem.
